Natural Makeup: From Glow To Glam

Today I want to share some of the products that I have grown to love as I have transitioned to natural makeup due to a history of stye growth on my eyes. I had my second stye removal procedure a few months back and I refuse to have another one. Although, doctors can’t confirm what causes them to appear or know of any preventative measures, I know that they only appear and rapidly grow when I’m wearing makeup.

After my surgery, I knew that I didn’t want to give up on makeup and I was determined to find cleaner natural products for my eyes. I was lucky enough to have a sister with a bio degree and a passion for clean beauty products to help me in this transition. Hannah took me to Follian to learn more about natural makeup options and I haven’t turned back. Bye-bye toxic products, HELLO clean beauty- I’m here to stay. Here are some great products that I wear from a natural day glow to an intense evening glam.

W3ll People Bio Correct Concealer

We all know the difficulties in finding our “perfect match” and unfortunately many brands have yet to provide a variety of shades for all skin tones. In fact, the darkest shade that W3llpeople currently makes is “medium dark”, which is the shade that I use. In all honesty, I’m a little disappointed that those who are shades darker than myself don’t have the opportunity to give this product a try. I truly believe that this is one of the best clean beauty concealers and I’d love for there to be more shades available in the near future. (Follain and Target carries them)

Jane Iredale Mascara

This is the one product that I use every day. I have really short lashes and big eyes so I like to wear mascara to lengthen my lashes. I also use the PureLash Extender and Conditioner before I put on this mascara. My everyday makeup look is a dewy natural glow and this mascara really adds the final touch. Lawless One Shadow

I have tried many other brands and their eye shadows are not pigmented enough to create a glam look. I was looking for a palette that included both color and glitter for that extra pop. This eye shadow palette gives me all of that and their tagline is “clean AF” which settles my anxiety around harmless ingredients. The palette has all the colors you need to go from Glow to Glam. Eylure Magnetic Opulent Lashes

I always loved seeing women with their full face beat and the dramatic lashes but I refuse to add glue to my eyelids. When I came across these magnetic lashes I was so excited to try them. This one in particular are more like corner lashes that give just enough length and fullness yet look almost like natural lashes. The application process was difficult at first, but with much practice I truly believe anyone can figure it out. Although this isn’t a natural product, I prefer the magnetic option over glues and other toxic chemicals.

I have a long way to go in this natural beauty journey but I’m enjoying the ride. I’m still seeking a natural foundation that matches my skin (please share recommendations). As for now, I’m currently using Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer. More importantly, I cannot stress enough the importance of taking care of your skin. I’m always diligent with my skincare routine, the Brown and Coconut products are my go-to and I love my Nico & Robo sheet mask. There’s no better feeling than a fresh glowing face, and both of these skincare lines provide natural products that give you healthy beautiful skin.
