Do What Feels Good

Ya’ll, I had such an amazing night at the Hello Wellness event with Hannah Bronfman. Hannah is a wellness guru and author of “Do What Feels Good”. She closed off her book tour in Boston and I knew I was going to love everything about this woman when she kept it real and celebrated the diversity in the room. For Boston, that is a HUGE deal. I decided to go to this event because I am in the middle of a transition on my wellness journey and wanted to learn more about how to “feel good” and gain a more holistic approach to wellness. My time with Hannah taught me and I’m sure many other women in the room to enjoy this wellness journey, to listen to my body and to embrace inclusivity.

Good health is a gift, but it should not be a privilege. Everyone deserves to feel good.

When we see people who have “made it”, we assume that they don’t understand our daily struggles. Hannah is very candid about her life struggles from the pressures of body shaming in the dance world, a failed business venture, to her recent miscarriage. This serves as a great reminder that we are all humans dealing with struggles and how important it is to be kind to one another. Hannah took her setbacks and turned them into comebacks. She attributes the failure of her first venture to the birth of HBFIT. With her solution oriented mentality, entrepreneurial drive, and strong support system she has discovered her calling and is sharing all of her personal philosophies and learning in her book, “Do What Feels Good”.

The objective of the book isn’t to get you to follow her rules or even to use her recipes to meet the societal body norms, but simply to learn about how to be the best and healthiest version of yourself.  We are all easily influenced by the negative messages that are forced our way everyday. The first challenge is to change the perception you have of yourself. Hannah touches on all aspects of wellness; from knowing your body, your relationship with food, life routines, and curating positive relationships. I can keep typing and give you all the great content in the book, but I wont because I do believe that each reader will have a different experience when reading this book. For me, it arrived just in time as I was struggling to understand why I wasn’t feeling good. This book has allowed me to have open and honest conversations with myself about what my wellness journey can look like. It’s such a relief to read a positive, pressure-less yet holistic approach to wellness and I’m so here for it.
